Chiamaka Nnadozie is basking in the euphoria of helping Brighton & Hove Albion Women secure a place in the semi-finals of the Women’s FA Cup, where they will face Liverpool FC Women in the last four on May 10, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Nnadozie made decisive saves on Sunday as Brighton recorded a 2–0 victory over Arsenal Women FC in their quarter-final clash at Meadow Park.
The Nigerian shot-stopper produced three vital saves, including a sharp close-range stop before half-time, to keep the contest level under sustained Arsenal pressure.
Brighton took control early in the second half after Stina Blackstenius had a goal ruled out. Madison Haley opened the scoring in the 48th minute from Fran Kirby’s pass, before Caitlin Hayes headed in Kirby’s corner to seal the win.
Nnadozie’s composure and shot-stopping ensured Brighton saw out the game comfortably, knocking out the holders.
During Monday’s draw, the Seagulls were paired with Liverpool for a place in the final.
“Into the FA Cup semi-finals. An excellent performance from the whole squad,” Nnadozie wrote on X.
“Seagulls, for death could not hold Him captive.
Happy Easter to you all—Jesus is risen,” she added.
Brighton will be seeking to reach their first Women’s FA Cup final, while Liverpool are aiming to return to the stage for the first time since 1996.
Since joining Brighton last summer, the 25-year-old has established herself as an influential figure, winning plaudits for her performances in the Women’s Super League. She has recorded seven clean sheets in 18 appearances across all competitions this season.
