Boboye explains quitting Warriors

By Daily Sports on August 9, 2016

Coach Kennedy Boboye has resigned his appointment with the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Abia Warriors.

The former Sunshine Stars coach resigned on Sunday citing personal reasons but will officially tender the resignation letter on Monday to the management of the Umuahia Warriors.

Boboye said he decided to quit the job at the NPFL side in other to maintain the existing cordial relationship between him and some persons at the Umuahia outfit.

“Yes, I have resigned my appointment at Abia Warriors as technical adviser, I did that on Sunday though I’m heading to the office right now (Monday) to tender my official letter of resignation to the management.

“The reasons for my sudden decision is strictly personal not because of the side sliding fortune on the NPFL log.

“I want to thank the management for the opportunity given to me to serve the club and I wish them well in the on-going top-flight as well as other future endeavours.

“The management of Abia Warriors is my friend and they actually treated me nicely throughout my stay at the club.

“I really want to keep the good relationship that is why I felt the way out is for us to part peacefully.

“There are issues but I do not think those were meant for public consumption, I’m happy to have served the club to the best of my ability and I’m happy to leave on good note,” said the Super Eagles assistant coach to supersport.com.

Boboye last game for the Umuahia Warriors was the NPFL matchday 30 clash goalless draw against Akwa United on Saturday in Umuahia.

The Warriors are 15th on the Nigerian top-flight log on 36 points 12 adrift league leaders and oriental neighbours, Enugu Rangers.
