Oloko’s Falcons dream comes true with Nnadozie

Fatima Oloko has described her maiden Super Falcons call-up as a “dream come true” after earning a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper was named in head coach Justine Madugu’s final 25-player squad for the tournament, which will take place from July 25 to August 16.

Speaking in the ‘Inside the Super Falcons’ Nest’ interview segment shared on the team’s official X account, Oloko revealed that her mother was the first person she informed after receiving the call-up.

“It was actually my mom. My mom was the first person I spoke to,” the Abia Angels goalkeeper said.

The teenager admitted that she felt a mixture of excitement and nerves when she arrived at her first Super Falcons camp.

“It was a dream come true for me,” she said.

“I was excited, but at the same time I was still nervous, like I was kind of shaky.”

However, one of the biggest highlights of the call-up for Oloko will be the opportunity to train alongside Chiamaka Nnadozie, one of Africa’s most decorated goalkeepers.

Nnadozie, a three-time Africa Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, has been a source of inspiration for the young shot-stopper, who admitted that she was thrilled at the prospect of sharing the training ground with the Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper.

“That’s one feeling I cannot explain or express right now because that was the first thing that came to me. I was happy,” Oloko said.

“I’ve watched her from afar and I admire her a lot, and getting the opportunity to train alongside her is a very big honour to me.”

Oloko’s inclusion in the squad is another major milestone in her rapid rise.

The Abia Angels goalkeeper is the only player from the Nigeria Women’s Football League to make the final squad after impressing during the 2025/26 season.

Her performances helped Abia Angels qualify for the NWFL Super Six for the first time in the club’s history, while her displays also earned her the NWFL Goalkeeper of the Season award.
