France forward Kylian Mbappé has emerged as the leading scorer at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, finishing the tournament with 10 goals and four assists.
Mbappé’s impressive attacking display puts him ahead of Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who ended the competition with eight goals and four assists.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham and Norway striker Erling Haaland occupy the third and fourth positions respectively, with both players scoring seven goals.
However, Bellingham’s one assist gives him an advantage over Haaland, who recorded no assists.
Another French star, Ousmane Dembélé, also made the top five after contributing six goals and two assists, while England captain Harry Kane matched Dembélé’s goal tally with six goals and one assist.
Spain forward Mikel Oyarzabal, who helped La Roja secure the 2026 World Cup title, finished among the tournament’s top scorers with five goals and one assist.
Senegal’s Ismaïla Sarr and Mexico’s Julián Quiñones both recorded four goals and one assist, while Brazil forward Vinícius Júnior completed the top 10 list with the same goal and assist tally.
The Golden Boot race highlighted the dominance of some of world football’s biggest names, with Mbappé once again proving his status as one of the game’s most prolific attackers and Messi continuing to produce at the highest level on the global stage.
