Gov Makinde’s Solid Support And 3SC’s Return To The Top Flight

By Daily Sports on September 20, 2021

Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State is a unique person with great features of note, for the records, I have met him thrice each not when he became Governor. Twice, I sat one on one during a function and he is ever interesting person to be with. He is intelligent and also disarmingly unassuming too. A handsome personable fellow that hits the nail at the head.

He does not talk for talking sake and ensures his words are his bond. He is also one young governor that has performed excellently well and if you have been in the ancient City and political capital of the South West, Ibadan you have been there since Seyi assumed duties as governor you would come to terms with the accelerated development of the State capital which he has carried to the nooks and crannies of the state.

He is a performer of the first-order and so has endured himself into the hearts of his people don’t mind the flashes of opposition even from within. This week this column will examine the most recent achievements he put up for the youths and young at heart in the State and beyond.

I was on purely private visit to Ibadan last week to see things for myself the new look Lekan Salami The stadium was recently remodeled by Governor Seyi Makinde administration.

Dear readers, it was not beauty to behold but also great edifice reborn. I told nobody else that little wonder Seyi is an engineer and must have made great input in the whole process of bringing the Stadium named after a great supporter of then IICC Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan.

The Stadium is now more befitting and the great Lekan Salami would be relaxed and more comfortable where ever he is now, Governor Seyi Makinde placed the stadium amongst the beautifully designed architectural edifice called stadia in the country.

A hard worker of note he ensure that the project was sealed and delivered on schedule to the admiration of all those that knew the importance of such facility in Ibadan. He is one young person that has further confirmed that youths and the young ones are ready to take over decisively and perform creditably well too.

Governor Makinde is the epitome of a first-rate performer. Let me sound it here that since he became the first citizen of the State, I have met or seek to meet him for any reason as I don’t need to seek permission to tour any State I want to do an on the spot assessment to know what is ongoing for the benefit of such state citizenry. To be honest with you, I came back armed to the teeth on the dossier call Oyo State under the watch of Seyi.

As if the bringing to the full life of Lekan Salami Stadium was not enough another great news followed, the returning to the elite league of one of the oldies of the Nigerian league, 3SC FC of Ibadan. It was a great comeback for one of the teams that made the scene thicker. It was also completion of the old big teams now in the nation’s NPFL. The circle would be completed when Bendel Insurance FC returns to base.

Governor Seyi Makinde as the luck one can shout it loud and clear that he has made it where others failed woefully. He ensured through much support that 3SC returned to where it truly belonged to. The playoffs that saw the oldie club back to where the likes of Rangers International FC one great club that has never tasted relegation is plying, Enyimba International Fc the most successful club in the country, Kano Pillars former Raccah Rovers, Rivers United composition of Sharks and Eagle Cement football clubs, etc.

It remains heartwarming that Governor Seyi Makinde through his solid support of the Oluyole Warriors midwife the darling team of Ibadan fans back to the premiership of the of the Nigeria league system. It remains no mean fate and those that are unbiased and have the overall interest of the youths and young ones in the State at heart would celebrate this to high heavens.

The governor and his leg men have delivered and the onions are on 3SC management, the technical crew led by Edith Agoye and the players to put their house in order in order to strengthen and build on this fate the sporting governor of the State, Engineer Seyi Makinde ensured came handy and timely this hour to endure.

This write up on Governor Makinde and the return of the darling team of Ibadan fans Shooting Stars Sports Club without recalling the era of a certain Sports Commissioner in the State, young and well-learned too, Dapo Lam- Adesina that used all forms of propaganda thinking that such was the name of the game on 3SC FC but was frontally disappointed as the team could not make it to NPFL.

Dapo Lam Adesina and his masters tried in vain to return 3SC FC to the premier side but totally lacked the capacity to get through. Without any due and undue noise making the Seyi Makinde led administration calmly but assiduously ensured the team of Ibadan fans came to where it rightly belonged, NPFL.

NPFL teams will have their hands full as one of the crowd-pulling teams has made its way back where the action has been. It will be active all the way in NPFL when the league kicks off.

Our teams in the African front would have no other option than to stake all to ensure they squarely take on their opponents. Akwa United, Rivers United, Enyimba International and Bayelsa United no excuses. Enyimba’s opponent in the second round of CAF Confederation Cup is known and no team is small. Such is also applicable to other teams representing the country.

George Finidi has finally signed up for Enyimba on two years contract. Also, Esu has also resumed with the Aba-based side.

Congratulations and one must also thumb up the recruitment drive of the team the players so listed are great on their side. I was not surprised when I saw the list because Felix Anyansi Agwu as a shrewd football administrator always has his eyes on the ball from the start of the season till the curtain is down.

Give it to him he does not and has never embarked on comprehensive recruitment of players each season and he has always made coaches unlike many Nigerian clubs that go for established ones.

I digress. 3SC management, technical crew, players, and fans must brace up decisively to ensure that the team has come to stay in the NPFL. Governor Makinde has done his best by capping his intelligent administration and systematic governance as it should be.

Our social media handles are bubbling with traffic, join us. Keep Shooting hard till next week as the struggle continues!!
