Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour spoke exclusively to Rivellino and Alex, two Brazilian football legends who had nothing but the deepest praise for O Fenomeno.
"Ronaldo was fantastic, one of the greats of world football. He was a decisive player, he always went forward, he sought and craved goals. He was a player loved by the whole world and who played in giant clubs," Rivellino said.
A key part of Brazil's 1970 side, Riva took the chance to joke with the former No. 9.
"He is how old now, 40? He's an old man but I want to see him make my age. Cheers! I am a big fan of Ronaldo, he was a great and a brilliant ambassador for Brazilian football.”
Alex, meanwhile, revealed that he knew Ronaldo from his early days at Sao Cristovao. The pair played together in Brazil's youth divisions.
"It is hard to describe Ronaldo, I knew him back at Sao Cristovao and the Brazil youth team and I watched him grow into the player he was,” he said.
“One of the greatest of all-time, even with all his physical problems, the knee injuries, he always battled back and all those who had the pleasure of seeing him play, or like me had the greater pleasure of playing with him, know he was great.
"The nickname the Italians gave him fit perfectly. He is a phenomenon." (goal.com)
