Victor Osimhen has urged his Galatasaray teammates to stay focused as they approach the decisive phase of the Turkish Super Lig season and their push for European success in the UEFA Champions League, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Turkish champions extended their strong run with a convincing 3–1 victory over Alanyaspor at RAMS Park on Saturday. Osimhen once again proved influential, scoring once and providing an assist as Galatasaray strengthened their grip at the top of the table.
The result followed Galatasaray’s thrilling 7–5 aggregate victory over Juventus in the Champions League, which secured their place in the round of 16 for the first time in 12 years. They now face a stern test against English Premier League champions Liverpool.
Across those two key fixtures, Osimhen registered four goal contributions—one goal and three assists.
Despite the growing excitement, the Nigerian international has cautioned that the upcoming run of matches across all competitions will be decisive in shaping their season.
Galatasaray remain active on three fronts, with a Turkish Cup clash against Alanyaspor up next. That will be followed by a crucial away derby against fierce rivals Beşiktaş—a fixture that could have major implications for the title race, especially with challengers Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor waiting to capitalise on any slip.
After the domestic tests, Galatasaray will host Liverpool in a high-stakes Champions League encounter before travelling to Anfield for the return leg.
“The Beşiktaş match is a critical one,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.
“We’re taking it one match at a time. Of course, it will be a big match. A very high-quality team awaits us, but we also have a very high-quality team. We’ll go there for three points. It won’t be easy. First the Beşiktaş match, then Liverpool—but let’s not forget we also have a cup match against the team we just played. There are many more matches ahead of us until the end of the season.”
Away from the pitch, Osimhen also experienced an emotional moment with Galatasaray supporters before the Alanyaspor game, as fans unveiled a special banner in his honour.
The gesture left the forward visibly moved.
“I didn’t know the fans had prepared it,” he said. “It was a surprise.
“Everything they’ve done since I arrived is very precious to me. I came on loan, and words can’t describe it. Such loving fans. We have a fanbase that creates a special bond with the players beyond just football. I’m truly very happy.
“I agree with what was written on the banner. We are a family, and family is more important than anything. I’m at a club I love, with people I care about. We’re together through good times and bad, and we’re enjoying every moment. I’m very grateful for their support.”
