Governor Abdulrazaq To Flag Off Torch-Of-Unity For Kwara 2020 Sports Festival

By Obaseki Anthony on January 9, 2020

Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will today, Thursday, January 9, 2020, flag off the Torch-of-Unity exercise, which is to precede the commencement of the 7th Kwara Sport Festival.

The Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Hon. Joana Nnazua Kolo, disclosed this Tuesday in her office while speaking to members of the Main Organising Committee of the festival.

Hon. Kolo, who revealed that arrangements have been made for the flag-off ceremony to hold as scheduled, said that the Committee would later bear the Torch-of-Unity symbol to all the local government areas after the Governor’s example.

While thanking Governor AbdulRazaq for his discretion to use the festival to discover talents in the rural areas and to discourage youths from engaging in social vices, the Commissioner implored all the stakeholders to join the Governor in the colourful ceremony scheduled to hold at the Government House, Ilorin.

She noted that the festival will commence on January 25 through February 1.
