By Daily Sports on January 6, 2020

Turkish football club Galatasaray signed Nigerian winger Henry Onyekuru on loan from French team Monaco on Sunday.

Galatasaray said on their Twitter account that Onyekuru, 22, underwent medical checks in an Istanbul hospital to join the Lions.

“Welcome home Henry Onyekuru!” Galatasaray stated.

Separately, the Turkish club said on the Borsa Istanbul’s Public Disclosure Platform that Galatasaray agreed with Monaco and Onyekuru for the player’s loan deal.

According to the agreement, Galatasaray will pay Monaco €750,000 ($837,150) transfer fee.

The Lions will give €650,000 ($725,530) to Onyekuru as half-season salary as the player's contract will end in June 2020.

Generally playing as a left winger, Nigerian international Onyekuru was a Galatasaray regular last season, scoring 14 Turkish Super Lig goals in 31 matches.

Onyekuru also helped Galatasaray win league title and Turkish Cup in 2019.

He will wear number 70 jersey at Galatasaray. (Anadolu Agency)
