John Ogu targets World Cup, AFCON qualification, Champions League football

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has listed his targets for the new season to include, World Cup and AFCON qualification as well as play UEFA Champions League football with Israeli champions Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

“What the objective of this new season. Win more titles, get to the Champions league Group stage, Qualify Nigeria to World Cup and AFCON đź™Ź,” Ogu tweeted.

Ogu is part of Gernot Rohr’s Eagles as they feature in qualifying tournaments for both the 2018 World Cup and AFCON 2019.

Nigeria lead the World Cup qualifying group on six points from two matches and resume the series with a double header against second-placed Cameroon from August 28.

However, they lost their opening qualifier on the road to Cameroon 2019.

Ogu’s club will face Honved of Hungary in the second qualifying round of the Champions League to be played between July 12 and 19.
