Gabriel Jesus has reportedly rejected a new £90,000-a-week deal at Manchester City and postponed any talks with the club until after the World Cup.
City chiefs were keen to tie the Brazilian striker down to a new contract before he left to compete with his country in Russia but negotiations stalled and his representatives have withdrawn from talks until the summer.
Jesus currently earns around £65,000-a-week but his entourage were unimpressed by City’s offer of £90,000, which would run until 2023.
They are holding out for more than $140,000 a week for the same time frame,although all parties have agreed to put a hold on talks for now.
Jesus's current contract runs out in 2022 so there's no major rush now and there are no concerns within City that the 20-year old lad will leave this summer.
Though Jesus has struggled with injury this year,City are keen to reward him for a fast start to life in the premiership and the hope is that both parties can find a compromise in the coming months
