Former Coach of Niger Tornadoes FC, Abubakar Bala, is the new Technical Adviser of NPFL returnees Kwara United.
It would be recalled that Coach Bala led Tornadoes to the 2017 Aiteo Cup and finished as the runners-up. Reports emanating from the camp of Afonja Warriors said he will be unveiled to the public on Wednesday, March 14 in llorin, Kwara State.
The management of the llorin team recently mutually and officially parted ways with its handler, John Obuh.
Daily Sports recalls that coach Obuh’s last outing with the Ilorin side was against El-kanemi Warriors,he brought team to NPFL elite cadre from the Nigeria National League (NNL).
According to Bala the management of the team asked him to ensure the outfit currently at the bottom of the -20-team league log will be out of relegation in the on-going season.
“He further confirmed that he the technical hand of Kwara United now.
The revealed that a senior colleague of his in sweat merchant profession jokingly told that the problem in Kwara United is too overwhelming and weighty than his youthful body could shoulder.
“Let me re-emphasis that my experience as a Premier League coach with Niger Tornadoes where I took the side from the 17th position mid-season to finish at the 11th position as well as my national team experience will sincerely do not believe the job at Kwara United is bigger than me to handle.
“Moreover, the management agreed that there are lots of things not in its proper places in the team that needed to be addressed.
“There are the ones with the management, coaches, players as well aside the internal ones.
“However, first and foremost the management must quickly rally round to immediately see to the improvement of the welfare of the players.
“That’s key to help us see how we can move quickly to turn things around for the better towards getting the side out of relegation.
“Of course, the immediate mandate is to get the side out of relegation and I sincerely believe that with the cooperation of everybody the task is achievable,” said the former FC Lokoja coach to frontpixs.com.
The new manager’s first task is how to successfully prosecute the NPFL matchday 13 clash on Sunday at the reigning champions, Plateau United in Jos.
Kwara United are at the bottom 11 points 12 behind league leaders, Lobi Stars.
