Puel laments Ndidi’s red

By Daily Sports on December 18, 2017

Leicester City manager, Claude Puel claimed sending Wilfred Ndidi off was a harsh decision.

The King Power Outfit were stunned 3-0 by visiting Crystal Palace in Saturday's English Premier League encounter.

Just after the Foxes conceded a second, Ndidi - on his 21st birthday - was sent off by referee Martin Atkinson for a second bookable offence -  diving. And any chance of a comeback by the former league champions was dampened

However, the French tactician claimed that the red card issued to the former Genk player was harsh, and it affected his team, adversely.

“In the second half, we tried to react to get into the game. With a goal ruled out and just after Ndidi was sent off it was difficult to create chances to come back," Puel told club website.

“Of course it is always harsh. I didn’t see a replay, but I think it was too little fall, maybe and it is harsh to lose a player like Ndidi because he is a crucial, valuable player.

“His work is fantastic and without Ndidi it is difficult with a player less, difficult to come back," Puel said.

Ndidi who has featured in all Leicester’s league matches this season will miss their League Cup outing against Manchester City on Tuesday.
