Injury knocks-out Emmanuel Emenike for 4 weeks

By Daily Sports on August 17, 2017

Striker Emmanuel Emenike will be sidelined for at least four weeks after he suffered a muscle injury.

Scorenigeria reported that the former Super Eagles front man suffered the injury during a friendly against Atromitos.

He will therefore miss the opening weeks of the new season in Greece, which kicks off this weekend.

On Saturday, Olympiacos will open their title defence at home against Larissa.

That explained why the Nigeria striker was not listed by Greek champions Olympiacos in Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League qualifier at home against Rijeka of Croatia.

Before then, the former Fenerbache striker made an instant impact when he scored as a late substitute in another Champions League qualifier at Partizan Belgrade of Serbia.

Emenike signed a two-year contract with Olympiacos after he played a bit role last season at Fenerbache.
