Osun United head coach, Duke Udi has said his side are not in Calabar for sightseeing but the whole three points at Unicem Rovers.
The Omoluabi Giants are guests of the Calabar landlords in Monday’s Nigeria National League (NNL) rescheduled matchday 14 clash at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
Udi said he is in Calabar with a depleted side but that will not deny the side the opportunity to earn a decent result in the make-up clash.
“We are not here to admire the beautiful city of Calabar or sightseeing but for the whole three points at stake.
“In our usual practice we always respect our opponents but do not fear them and same applies to Unicem Rovers.
“I have injury worries on key players coming into the game but that’s not making excuses as we have good replacements who should grab the chance to cement permanent shirts for themselves.
“Two of our key players on our starting line-up were reported to be down with severe malaria fever.
“Although they have been treated but we will not want to take the risk to field the duo for the encounter.
“However, we have a former junior international in our midst, Sambo Soji who will be making his debut in the clash.
“Well we are ready, no further complain as the replacements have vowed to make their input counts positively.
“We are hopeful to end the first term campaign on a good note by taking something from here but outright victory will be the sweetest,” said the former Nigerian star and Giwa FC coach to supersport.com.
The Osogbo landlords are eighth on the 18-team NNL southern conference log on 23 points 12 behind league leaders, Heartland.
