Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong is being courted by Turkish club Bursaspor, according to media reports.

Troost-Ekong has returned to parent Belgian club KAA Gent after a loan spell at Norwegian club Haugesund, but according to Het Nieuwsblad Turkish club Bursaspor spied on the central defender at the weekend.

Bursaspor are in the lower half of the Turkish Super Lig with 35 points from 31 matches with three matches to the end of the season.

Former Eagles star Taye Taiwo has played for this club.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has said he wants Troost-Ekong to play in a bigger league.

The 23-year-old hard-tackling defender has made six appearances for Gent this season.

He recently extended his contract at the club till 2018 after he spent two seasons at Haugesund.

He has previously played for Dutch clubs Groningen and Dordrecht.
