The Governor Okowa Pre-Season Tournament enters day 5 today, Sunday, September 15, 2019 with the regular three matches a day.
Meanwhile, Niger Tornadoes yesterday took no prisoners as they took MFM to the cleaners on day four of the tournament holding at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba, capital of Delta State.
Substitute Ahmadu Liman and Wakili Musa made sure Niger Tornadoes secured the three points at stake.
MFM started like a house on fire as they controlled early possession of the game with their silky passes and beautiful interplay but couldn’t trouble Moses Ocheje in goal for Tornadoes.
Niger Tornadoes gradually grew into the game and it was no surprise when they took the lead through petit Liman in the 56th minute.
Coach Tony Bolus of MFM instantly rang some changes including the introduction of Abayomi Lawal who without delay troubled the Tornadoes’ back line.
MFM continued to push for the leveller but it was Niger Tornadoes that had the last laugh when Hashimu rounded up his marker before sending a cross to midfielder Musa Wakili who nodded home with no apology.
Below is a preview of today’s matches.
