Technical manager of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma has spoken about his delight at the club’s decision to embark on a 10-day training tour to Spain.
United are currently in their fifth and final phase of pre-season preparations which commenced on 1 November.
Eguma has overseen the second, third and fourth phases of the club’s pre-season exertions which took them to Abuja, Kaduna and Enugu, respectively and the experienced gaffer has likened the trip to Spain as the icing on the cake.
“Our preparations have been fantastic and I want to use this medium to thank the sponsors, the Rivers State Government and especially, the Governor, Ezebunwo Nyesom Wke, who has taken particular interest in the affairs of the football club.
“We have spent just a few days here (Spain) but the lessons we have learned so far are quite huge and I am sure we will take a lot home with us.
“The onus is now on us to ensure that we justify the huge investment in us because to whom much is given, much is expected,” Eguma told supersport.com.
