Senegal team returns home, presents AFCON trophy to President

Senegal’s national football team, the Lions of Teranga, and their coaching staff were welcomed home to a warm reception after winning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Dammiedammie35, members of the victorious squad were seen at the airport at night, proudly wearing their gold medals and national colours, while photographers, officials, and supporters gathered to greet them.

The players later presented the AFCON trophy to Senegalese President Bassirou Faye, marking the nation’s second continental title.

The return of the champions symbolised national pride and unity, as the country celebrated one of its most significant football milestones.

PUNCH Online reports that Senegal won their second Africa Cup of Nations title on Sunday after defeating hosts Morocco 1–0 following extra time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
