Brazilian pundit, Fabio Montezine, has praised Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen for his extraordinary qualities and rates him as Partenopei’s best player so far this season.
Osimhen has had an incredible start to the 2022/23 season scoring 10 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions.
Speaking in Qatar, the 43-year-old and former Napoli player said Osimhen is the only player at the club that has impressed him the most with his classic performances.
“A lot. But the player from Napoli who impresses me the most is Osimhen, Montezine said as reported by Tutton Napoli.
“He’s doing extraordinary things, I didn’t think he could play so well and score so often. I later found out that he is a dragger. So many years after my games in Naples, it’s extraordinary to see the team up there, in the first place, fighting for the Scudetto more than ever.”
Osimhen emerged as the best young player of the year in 2022, winning the glamorous 2022 Globe Soccer Awards on Thursday beating Gavi and Valverde to the award.
The 23-year-old who joined the Serie A leaders for a reported €75m fee in September 2020, has been in the form of his life helping Napoli top the Serie A table with 41 points, and 37 goals in 15 games
Osimhen has also been nominated for November’s Serie A player of the month.
