Olarewaju Kayode returns to Girona

By Daily Sports on February 2, 2018

Nigeria international striker Olarewaju Kayode is back at Girona after his loan move to French Ligue 1 side Amiens failed to go through due to administrative errors.

According to Owngoalnigeria.com arrived France Wednesday to complete his transfer to Amiens, and had his medicals which he passed ahead of the move.

However, the forward who spent the first half of the season on loan to Spanish LaLiga side Girona from Manchester City, the club he joined in the summer was left disappointed after the move failed to materialise.

Administrative issues lead to the deal failing to meet the deadline for submission of done deals, hence it was rejected by the governing body of the French Ligue ‎1, and Amiens are expected to lodge an appeal with FIFA to push through the move.

Manchester City agreed a loan deal with Amiens for the 24 years old, with the Ligue 1 side having the option to buy him permanently after his initial loan, but the collapse of the deal means he will now return back to LaLiga side Girona.

At Girona he has failed to make same impact like he had at Austrian side Austria Wien, where he finished as top scorer and also got voted ‎as the best player in the Austrian Bundesliga after scoring 24 goals.
