Heartland head coach Ramson Madu has called the Nigerian top-flight clash against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) as the toughest match his side has played recently.
The Naze Millionaires pipped the Oluyole Warriors 1-0 in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 32 clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
Former Dolphins defensive midfielder,Emeka Atuloma scored the match winner that handed the Owerri-based side the vital three points at stake.
Madu praised his charges for defending their hard-earned goal till the end against determined and difficult opponents.
“It was the toughest game we have played in recent time as 3SC showed they came determined to fight for the three points at stake.
“I think the Ibadan side were more than prepared for the encounter with their resolute approach to the game.
“I commend my players for their impressive performance; they simply made up their minds to win the match no matter the challenges.
“The victory has lifted my mood as well as given us the added boost and encouragement to continue the survival fight.
“It’s not celebration time yes as we are not out of the wood, there is still work to be done.
“The work is enormous, but we are more than determined to keep fighting till the last whistle,” Madu told supersport.com.
The victory against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has lifted Heartland's total points to 39.
