Bennacer Open To Manchester United Switch

Ismaël Bennacer has reportedly expressed his desire to join Manchester United ahead of the 2020/21 season.

According to La Gazzette du Fennec, the Algeria international is open to joining the Red Devils.

Bennacer only joined AC Milan from FC Empoli in August last year, but has clearly impressed in his debut season at the San Siro. He has played 28 times across all competitions for I Rossoneri this season and was involved from the onset in their 3-0 win over Lazio in Serie A on Saturday evening.

The former Arsenal midfielder was named as the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Player of the Tournament after helping Algeria to the continental crown in Egypt 12 months ago. Bennacer played youth football for France before committing his allegiance to Algeria for whom he has won 22 caps since making his debut four years ago.

The 22-year-old played just the one game for Arsenal’s first team in 2015 before moving to Italy on a permanent deal three years ago.

Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be keeping close tabs on the midfielder. (African Football)
