NSF 2025: Anambra To Storm Ogun With 150-.Man Contingent For 20 Events

Anambra is presenting a 150 man team at the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State, which commenced on May 15.
Emeka Obidimma, the Director of Sports who disclosed this in Awka, said the team included 100 athletes and 50 officials.
Obidimma said Anambra would feature 20 events including Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Chess, Darts, Deaf Table Tennis, Karate, Kickboxing and Wushu Kungfu.
Others are Para Athletics, Scrabble, Swimming, Taekwondo, Ncho, Volleyball, Weightlifting and Wrestling.
He said the team was currently concluding its series of preparations with 5-day intensive closed camping in Awka before their departure on Friday.
The Director commended Patrick-Estate Onyedum, the Chairman of Anambra State Sports Commission for the administrative, Technical and logistics support which he was providing.
He said Anambra was going to Abeokuta to participate and for glory.
According to him, we are not just going to be party of the festival, we are going to compete and win as much as old as possible.
“Our target is to meet our previous record and surpass it, the spirit in camp is high, our athletes are ready to go for glory.
" I want to thank Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, our sports loving governor for support he has been providing for us.
“I also want very specially, Chairman of the Sports Commission, Patrick-Estate Onyedum for the leadership he is providing,” he said.
Recall Anambra won a total of 39 medals at the last NSF in Asaba, Delta State with six gold, nine silver and 24 bronze.
