Zamadek Football Academy and HB Utility Football Academy will slug it out for the N750,000 prize money in the final of the fifth JOF U-13 Kids Cup, which holds May 12 at the University of Lagos Sports Centre, Lagos.
Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, Director of Strategic Support Services, JOF Nigeria Limited, Adeyinka Adetunji, said the tournament was a platform for young footballers under 13 to showcase their skills, adding that the best four teams would be rewarded financially.
According to Adetunji, the champions will get N750,000 with a giant trophy, first runners-up will pocket N500,000, while third and fourth positions will receive N350,000 and N250,000 respectively.
He also disclosed that outstanding individual prizes of N25,000 each will be given to the highest scorer, MVP and best goalkeeper of the 64-team tournament.
“Through the power of sports, we witnessed first-hand JOF All Stars team last November play PSI Ibadan and Remo Stars of Ikenne in Ogun State with the sole aim of further exposing the boys to top players from the tournament,” he said.
Secretary, Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association, Abubakre Ishola, said the association would provide a platform for the kids to develop their talents, build character and install passion for the game in them.”
