Nigerians dominate African forwards list

Nigeria’s influence reigns supreme in the ranks of the most valuable African forwards, with Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, leading the charge with an astounding €120m valuation, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Standing tall at the top of this exclusive list, Osimhen’s commanding worth sets the pace among his African peers, cementing his status as not only the most valuable forward from the continent but also the most valuable player overall according to football news, transfer rumours and statistics medium, Transfermarkt.

Following closely but trailing Osimhen by a significant margin is Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, valued at €65m, emphasizing the substantial gap in market value between the top two forwards.

Another Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, is joint-third with Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy among all forwards in Africa both Bundesliga sensations valued at €40m.

Boniface’s market value jumped from €12m to €40m, as his phenomenal performances for Bayer Leverkusen led to a 230 per cent increase. The 22-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 19 games this season.

Amine Gouiri from Algeria, Cameroon’s Bryan Mbeumo, and Senegalese Nicolas Jackson are all valued at €35m and are in the fith, sixth and seventh place on the list respectively.

Joining Osimhen and Boniface in the elite league of high-value Nigerian forwards are Taiwo Awoniyi and Ademola Lookman, both occupying eigth and ninth spot respectively with a market value of €30m each.

In 10th place, Nigerian attackers Samuel Chukwueze and Terem Moffi share the €25m valuation with other distinguished African talents including reigning African Player of the Year, Sadio Mané of Senegal, Ivory Coast’s Sébastien Haller, Algeria’s Saïd Benrahma who plays for West Ham, Dango Ouattara of Burkina Faso, Ghana’s Iñaki Williams and Morrocan Amine Adli.

The roster of top-valued African forwards also includes talent from various nations, showcasing the continent’s diversity in football prowess. The depth of talent evident in the African forward ranks underscores the continent’s rich footballing heritage, displaying the diverse skill sets and potential present across multiple nations.

Nigeria, in particular, stands tall as a breeding ground for exceptional forward talent, reflected in the remarkable presence of multiple Nigerian players within the top tier of the most valuable African forwards.

These valuations have helped place Nigeria as the most valuable squad in Africa and the tenth most valuable national team in the World. The three-time African champions are valued at €451.60m with Osimhen contributing 26 percent of the total Eagles squad .

After Nigeria’s six players, Algeria and Senegal have two players on the list, while other nations only have one representative worth at least €25m.

The collective valuation of these dynamic forwards not only highlights their individual prowess but also underscores the promising future of African football, with Nigeria prominently leading the charge in the area of
