Nwankwo Kanu Set to Become Enyimba Chairman after Dissolution of Former Board

By Daily Sports Nigeria on July 3, 2023

Reports suggest that Nwankwo Kanu, the former captain of the Super Eagles, is being considered as the new chairman of Enyimba, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Premier League. The Abia State Government dissolved the previous board of the club earlier this week.

Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who served as the team’s chairman for 23 years, led the now-dissolved board. Under his leadership, the Aba giants clinched nine NPL titles and two CAF Champions League trophies.

Sources from Umuahia indicate that Kanu, a former Premier League champion, is being targeted for the vacant position. Enyimba is set to participate in the CAF Champions League in the upcoming season.
