The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos chapter celebrates the life of three prominent Nigerians who have made indelible marks to the development of the nation.

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu, who celebrated his 80th birthday on 29 October, 2024. Chief (Mrs.) Folasade Tinubu-Ojo who is celebrating 11th anniversary as Iyaloja General of Nigeria and the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Adegoke Fayoade who clocked 56 on 28 October 2024.

Lagos SWAN notes that this week has been a period of celebration in the life of the three important personalities, and with great pleasure and humility the association joins Nigerians in celebrating them.

"Since our father, Oba Akiolu ascended the throne of his forefathers on 24 May 2003, the city of Lagos has witnessed peace and development under his watch. The life of Oba Akiolu has been a testimony of royalty and love which he depicts as a king in a metropolitan Lagos city," said Olatutu Oladunni, the chairman of Lagos SWAN.

"When we look at the person of Chief Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, the daughter of our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, she is a mother to all. She has indeed impacted the lives of many people around her and more importantly, she has impacted us at the Lagos SWAN. We celebrate her 11th anniversary as Iyaloja General of Nigeria and we pray that her reign would bring peace and development to various marketplaces across the country," Oladunni said.

The Lagos SWAN chairman eulogises the AIG Fayoade who heads the Zone 2 of the Nigeria Police.

"AIG Adegoke Fayoade has been a great supporter of Lagos SWAN and we cannot but join family, friends and associates in celebrating his birthday.

We thank God on his behalf and commend the ways he has been able to handle the job committed to his hands by the nation. His level of professionalism and leadership skills endear us to him," Oladunni said.
