Napoli receive offers from PSG, Chelsea for Osimhen

By Daily Sports Nigeria on June 15, 2023

Victor Osimhen’s appearance against Sampdoria on the final day of the 2022/23 season in Serie A may be his last game for Napoli after reports emerged that the Italian champions had received two viable offers for the Nigerian, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Osimhen’s 31 goals contribution (26 goals and five assists) from 32 appearances in the league helped Napoli win the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years and he also became the first African to win the Capocannoniere, the Serie A top scorer award.

His impressive performance has attracted several clubs in Europe, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid all reportedly in the race to sign the forward, whose contract expires in 2025.

Despite Napoli’s insistence on several occasions that their most prized asset is not for sale, the future of the Nigeria international looks more likely away from the Italian club next season.

Meanwhile, getfootballnewsitaly, quoting Il Mattino, revealed that the Partenopei have received offers from PSG and Chelsea for the Super Eagles striker.

“Yesterday, Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda asked club owner Aurelio de Laurentiis to take stock of the situation of the Nigerian. He has made it clear to Napoli that he has two offers – one from Chelsea and one from Paris Saint-Germain,” the website wrote.

“It is time for Napoli to assess the situation, especially considering that Osimhen has expressed his desire to not sign a new deal at the club, with his current contract expiring in the summer of 2025. This will help him leave the club next summer at a lower fee and he will not be held ransom by the club, who could ask for a huge amount even next summer, if he ends up renewing the current contract.

“For Napoli, it will be very difficult to refuse a huge offer and they are already looking at some names. One of them is Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia, who impressed in Serie A this season.”
