Nigeria’s striker, Victor Osimhen has recovered from coronavirus.
His club, Napoli, made this known on Thursday via their Twitter handle.
His recovery is coming two days to Nigeria’s first game at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The prolific striker had been ruled out of the competition before his recovery.
“Victor is negative for COVID and will return to Italy in the coming hours,” the Partenopei wrote on Twitter.
The 23-year-old, who is still recovering from surgery after suffering a smashed cheekbone against Inter Milan in late November, was tested before travelling to Italy for a check-up on Friday.
Osimhen also tested positive for COVID-19 last year’s January after returning from Christmas holidays in Nigeria. (Punch)
