Napoli Preparing To Replace Osimhen

By Daily Sports Nigeria on November 26, 2022

Italian Serie A table toppers Napoli are reportedly preparing for life without their record acquisition Victor Osimhen.

According to Italian transfer market expert Paolo Bargiggia, Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has identified two players currently competing at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as a potential replacement for Osimhen.

The Nigeria international has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Premier League next summer, with Manchester United among his suitors.

The two names Napoli have their eyes on are Sevilla’s Morocco attacker Youssef En-Nesyri who scored twice in this season’s Champions League, and Lille’s Canada star Jonathan David who mustered nine goals in fifteen appearances in the Ligue 1 before the World Cup break.

Osimhen is the leading marksman in the Serie A with nine goals in eleven matches and has also found the net in the Champions League.

Napoli have slapped a price tag of more than 100 million euros on Osimhen and it is unclear whether they would be willing to lower their demands next summer when he would have two years left on his deal.
