Remo Stars Football Academy on Monday defeated KJ United FC of Kaduna 3-2 in a match two players scored a brace each, in one of the Nationwide League One (NLO) playoff matches.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the match was played at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin centre.
NAN reports that it was Remo Stars which drew the first blood in the 17th minute of play, when Taiwo Moshood connected a delicious set piece to put his team in the lead.
Sunday Ibrahim even the scores in the 31st minute with a cool finish to bring KJ United level following Remo Stars lead in the 17th minute.
On the stroke of half time, Taiwo Moshood capitalised on a defensive error by KJ United defender and perfectly slotted home the first of his brace to restore Remo Stars’ lead.
Sunday Ibrahim completed his brace of the match in the 50th minute with a sublime finish to level the scores for KJ United.
Ogundana Shola, in the 66th minute sealed the match day 1 victory for Remo Stars after a perfect first touch before he hammered home the winner in confident fashion.
In the KFA pitch centre, also in Ilorin, Abiodun Owoyemi’s 60th minute strike was the difference as Olukisment FC of Ekiti defeated Kaduna United 1-0.
In Tuesday matches, Ottasolo FC will pit their wits with FC Ebedei in a game believed to be the headline of the Kwara centre of the NLO playoff.
Vet Rovers FC of Vom, Plateau, will lock horns with EKSU Galaticos of Ekiti in one of the matches scheduled for Tuesday. (NAN)
