Osimhen’s Club Choice And The Mega Dollars, Happy Survival Awoniyi, Dare’s MKO Abiola Stadium Quit Notice Order

By Daily Sports on June 23, 2020

Thanks, dear readers, for your SMS thumbing up the high standard that has been maintained by the column over these years. I can vividly say that it was no man’s act than, foremost God, and all of you our teeming readers, encouraging, urging and suggesting the way forward, which we have followed like religion. Thanks to all of you, for being solidly there for this digital, all sports newspaper.

I must also acknowledge that you have also invited your numerous loved ones to like and read us. The result of likings increased tremendously. Our resolve remains to be on top of the topic (s) being analysed week in week out and objectivity, truth and balancing would continue to be most paramount, Trust!

However, one worry I have today is on the fast fledging football career of Victor Osimhen and the calibre of those that surrounded him as managers. Truth is that the lad is making fantastic and strong waves in his career. My fears are in many folds. One who is advising the young lad? Who is guiding him? Are they up to the task of guiding him right as he is like a beautiful bride to many football teams now? Would these persons ensure he makes the best of choices? These and many more questions begging for answers are relevant as these offers imagined and imaginary keep flooding the newsrooms and social media platforms competing for attention and space.

In times like this, it is where experience comes handy as editors worth their sort meritoriously separate the grains from the chaff. In Daily Sports, we have depth editors of class that have wealthy reportorial experiences and editing of many years standing. We readily decipher news and opinion and treat each on their merit. Osimhen must be led to where he will exhibit, express, display and set the tone for his football career whose time has come at all levels. Right advice would clinch it like magic. No more, no less!

As you will agree with me, Victor Osimhen the sensational Lille of French and Super Eagles hit man has been in the news for good reasons and his form gladdens the heart of his coaches, both in his club side and national team praying that it lasts and also continues.

I am his fan right from his Golden Eaglets days, where he did yeoman’s job in that team to ensure with his teammates that the FIFA U-17 World Cup was won by Nigeria for record time under the watchful eyes of ex-international turned coach, Emmanuel Amuneke.

Since then, the lad has been operating from underground, ensuring that he builds his career and now that many upbeat club sides need his services, it is also most important that those managing him must brace up decisively and with utmost vigilance to ensure the in-form player gets a solid contract and with a sound football club too. Eyes must be thoroughly opened too, so as not to enslave him, despite his near high level now in the round leather game.

The amount of dollars being floated must be seen to be reasonable so as not over price or out price the upcoming and promising lad out of his supposedly football club. He is one of the Super Eagles young players I have followed closely and such prompted my having very soft spot for the gangling dreaded hit man I have severally described him as another Rasheed Yekini whose exploits in the Super Eagles was unprecedented. He must not be mismanaged in any form because of high demand or if you like heavy price tag on the player.

This is also coming on the heels on the inflammable background that ex-international Lawal lent his voice on the 60 million Pounds placed on him where the former national team player frowned at and advised that his managers should be mindful and consider uppermost the fledging career of the leggy striker whose future is bright if he is not deceived.

Lawal has seen its all and must be listened to. My concern and that of people like Lawal is to see the young player through, to make great career both in his club and the national team. He has the features and we must help harness such for him. It is important as he will be the better for it at the end of the day.

From whatever angle you may be looking at it, Victor Osimhen has frontline roles to play with his other younger colleagues in the present Super Eagles. The frontline of the team would not only be deadly but potent against any opponent defence line  and no matter how resistant such team’s opponent may prove, it must fall because of the fireworks, the likes of Victor and his team mates, Chukwueze and company would spurn. Let the next news that would come out of the former Golden Eaglets camp be that he has signed a contract with a club that he would be having good number of playing time which is necessary for players and not Money.  Money would definitely come if he is consistently in form.

HAPPY SURVIVAL, TAIWO AWONIYI!!

The news the other day that zoomed out from Liverpool on the deadly injury that involved Taiwo Awoniyi also made me sick at the first instance but thank God the young player survived the head injury that made him pass out but revived after some hours.

For the records, he is Victor Osimhen’s Golden Eaglet set and towering striker too. His style of play strips me too and he has held on too, which was why I was pained when the news of his injury broke and prayers from his teeming fans around the globe saw him through.

Let me also say that Taiwo Awoniyi is Super Eagles material too and one prays he comes back to the side. Age and good performance is on his side. Happy you are back on your feet twin and God be with you as you continue without hassle, the trade you love most to ply. Daily Sports team congratulates you as we stage steady come back. Cheers!

Sunday Dare Quits Tenants at MKO ABIOLA Stadium Abuja

As this peg was about going to bed Sunday morning, the news that the Sports Minister has quit those occupying MKO Abiola Stadium Abuja filtered in, promising to give way for the work that would commence in earnest in the arena to go on smoothly without obstruction.

I must confess that the news gladdened my heart and I saw Dare with his ever large entourage inspecting and pointing to some directions in the hallowed sports arena. One hopes that he brings back to life the multibillion facility built for COJA 2003. The facility measures up to any international standard arena in the globe in terms of first rate amenities, which sadly had rot away even before most African countries that took part in COJA Games could settle down in their respective countries from the Games. It obviously mirrors the Nigerian way and manner of doing things. Solomon Dalung and Bolaji Abdullahi made mince meat of the supposedly flagship stadia in the country. If Dare would supervise and ensure the renovation works are not only solidly and smoothly carried out but also completed on record time, that would count in his favour.

Trust, Daily Sports will be on top of the goings on, in the Abiola Stadium Abuja and report back to the owners of the facility. Our social media handles are on 247. Let’s discuss passionately on the head and sub- heads of this piece. Keep shooting hard till next week!!
