Siasia urges Alex Iwobi to quit Arsenal

By Daily Sports on May 31, 2017

Former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia has urged Alex Iwobi to leave Arsenal before the 2018 World Cup.

The Young Super Eagles player and his counterpart at Manchester City, Kelechi Iheanacho, have both struggled for regular game time in the Premier League this past season.

And Siasia wants to see them leave the big clubs and become regulars elsewhere to ensure they are fit and firing for Nigeria’s 2018 campaign.

“Nobody is happy that with the huge talents of Iheanacho and Iwobi they did not play many matches for Man City and Arsenal," Siasia told Sporting Life.

”We cannot also blame their managers Pep Guadiola and Arsene Wenger for leaving them most time on the bench because the players that played ahead of them are more experienced.

"This why I would like them to seek playing time elsewhere if necessary to be able to be hot and smoking for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers."
