Elkanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri Borno State is set for the new season as the team has signed 18 new players and retained several key players, the team’s Media Manager, Prince Anthony Obaseki, said. He told Daily Sports that the side is ready for the league kick off on February 21 against Wikki Tourists.
His words: “I want to say here that we have cleared all the players we need for this season and I can inform you also that the team is presently in Katsina State where it is doing the pre-season training and will take part in a pre-season tournament later in Katsina.
“We signed two players from Kano Pillars they are Buhari Musa and Umar Zango, four from FC Taraba: Lucky Irimiya, Bishop Onyeudo, Ajara Olushola and Hashimu Haliru.
“Others are three from Bayelsa United Dongo Ebi, Alex Agahia and West Sobomabo; two from Niger Tornadoes, Zuberu Mohammed and Kawa Hamidu; as well as Mohammed Hussain from Niger academy.”
Prince Obaseki disclosed that the technical crew led by Ladan Bosso also signed three players from FC Abuja, namely, Daniel Japheth, Lucky Friday and Nelson Michael. The rest, he said, are Samuel Mathins from Wikki Tourists, Okate Pius from Mighty Jets, Ezekiel Thompson from Dolphins and Lucky Nenba Golope Dlesse from Cameroon. It is a loaded squad waiting for the kill, he declared.
The El-Kanemi image maker equally disclosed that the management also signed six youth players: Suleiman Abdulhamid, Umar Sadic, Jibilli Abubakar, Usaini Mohammed, Alhassan lbrahim and lliya Abubakar.
He assured that the management has put in place a new welfare package for the team this season. “I must not also fail to thank the Governor the number one supporter of the team, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, for all his support to the team,” Prince Obaseki said.
