Delta State Football Association Chairman, Edema Fuludu, has described the recent Nigeria Women Football Pro-league play-offs as a tournament with so many young talents.
The chairman, who was in Lokoja, Kogi State, to support Olori Babes FC, a team from his state, commended the organisers of the play-offs plus the officiating.
“We are happy and I think this has been well organised and the teams have come to show their class.
“Olori Babes showed that they are strong, fit and they did very well but that did does not mean that the other teams did not play well,” he said.
Olori Babes FC picked one of the two promotion tickets after winning all three games without conceding.
Expectedly, Fuludu is happy that two teams from his state will be competing in the women top flight football just like Warri Wolves and Delta Force in the NPFL, a first of its kind in Delta State.
“We also found out that they are some talented players that are growing in the system but generally the playoffs has been fair, officiating has been good, referees make mistakes sometimes it’s normal, it is part of the game and so but sum total of what I’m saying is for them to have fair decisions.
“Thanks to the women league, thanks to those who organise it and everybody, I think the coverage has also been very good because it’s on the TV, Radio and all social media platforms, i think we can also improve all ramification,” Fuludu said.
The Delta FA Chairman believes that women football will only develop when there is a running league.
“Well there is always a big chance for us to develop women football but the most important thing is that we must have a league that is running, if the league is running and we go to the school to encourage the young girls to come out, i mean they will start to compliment these ones.
“And if the league is running properly, we will continue to have talents come up and the league will develop, he concluded,” he stated.
