Onuachu Set for Genk Move

By Daily Sports on August 22, 2019

Nigeria international Paul Onuachu is poised for a move to Belgian champions Genk, according to reports in that country.

Onuachu will arrive from Danish side FC Midtjylland for a fee believes to be at least 6-million Euros.

The 25-year-old was involved in three matches for the Super Eagles at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he helped the side to the bronze medal.

Onuachu had spent seven seasons with Midtjylland, but was left out of the team’s squad at the weekend, amid reports that he was poised to make the move to Belgium.

He was prolific in the last three campaigns, netting 57 goals in 95 starts in all competitions.

Onuachu made headlines earlier this year when he netted for Nigeria after 10 seconds of his international debut against Egypt in a friendly, the quickest ever goal for the Super Eagles.

Genk were surprise Belgian league winners last season and will play in the Champions League group stages this season. (African Football)
