Newly appointed Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports in Ondo State, Akindotun Olubunmi Owanikin Esq has undertaken a familiarisation visit to the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA).

Owanikin visited ODSFA on Wednesday in company of the Sports Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. (Mrs) Dupe Eshofonie, and Director, Mrs Evelyn Lebi, among others. The delegation was received by the Board and Management of ODSFA led by Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi.

During a meeting at the Agency’s Boardroom, Owanikin expressed his belief that ODSFA and the ministry can achieve a lot if they work together with unity of purpose.

“I have come to say ‘e ku ile o’ (hello) to the house. I believe there is a lot we can achieve together here with cooperation. All the gray areas and challenges you have highlighted we are going to tackle together.

“We must work on how to get Sunshine Stars play in the continent again. It is important that only a sizeable number of quality players, recruited on merit and devoid of sentiments be signed on for the team,” Owanikin said.

Otunba Akinyemi, who thanked the Commissioner for his first official visit to ODSFA following his appointment few weeks ago, briefed Owanikin on the Agency’s operation and expressed confident the Agency and the Ministry will enjoy a robust relationship and success in the nearest future.

The well-attended meeting also had in attendance the Director of Sunshine Stars, Prince Tunde Ogunja; ODSFA Board Members, Mr Dare Ogunleye, Mr Sunday Aladenika, Agency’s Secretary, Mr Femi Iwajomo; and the leadership of Sunshine Stars, Sunshine Queens and Rising Stars, among others.
