Adekanye Set To Join Lazio from Liverpool

By Daily Sports on April 19, 2019

Nigerian-born forward Bobby Adekanye will reportedly leave Liverpool to join Lazio at the end of the current season.

The 20-year-old, who hails from Ibadan, has been on Liverpool’s books since 2015 and represents the club’s reserve and junior sides.

He has thus far not seen any first-team action under manager Jurgen Klopp and is eager to step up his career, with his contract at Anfield coming to an end in June this year.

Italian media outlets Corriere dello Sport and Il Messaggero report that Lazio want to the player to sign a three-year contract and head to Italy on a free transfer.

The forward’s agent reportedly travelled to the north of England to oversee the final details of his client’s contract, including his own fee, before both he and Adekanye then travelled to Formello (Lazio’s training ground) “in great secret” in order to put pen to paper on a contract for the next three seasons.

The 20-year-old will reportedly rake in €1m per year and have greater prospects of breaking into the first team under manager Simone Inzaghi than he enjoyed at the Reds.  (African Football)
