Sponsor of the U-13 JOF Cup Football Championship, JOF Nigeria Limited, has redeemed the prize money and cash awards to outstanding players of the recently held 5th edition of the grassroots age grade soccer competition.
The final of the tournament was played at the University of Lagos Sports Centre in Akoka, Yaba, Lagos early in the month of May 2024 with HB Utility of Ilupeju beating Zamadek Football Academy of Lagos Island 3-0 in the final to win the 5th U-13 JOF Cup.
Latoyam Academy defeated Strong Dove Academy 1-0 to win the third place match.
On Friday, at the Head Office of JOF Nigeria Limited, the prizes were presented to the teams and individual awards giving to the respective players by the company's Human Resources Manager, Mrs. Oyinade Roberts who made the cash presentations on behalf of the management.
The recipients, beaming with smiles and spirit of gratitude, hailed the company for keeping to its promise since five years ago the tournament started.
The sum of N1, 850, 000 was presented to the teams and players by the sponsor with the champions, HB Utility receiving N750,000. The prize was received on behalf of the team by Makanjuola Oyinlola. The first runners up, Zamadek got N500,000, and was received by Akinwontan Samsondeen. The third place winners, Latoyam Academy received N350,000. Adefila Fatai received the prize on behalf of the team, while Strong Dove who came fourth got the sum of N250,000, and was received by Abiodun Lasisi.
The tournament's best player, Ayomide Aitija of HB Utiility got the sum of N25,000, while both the best goalkeeper
Toheeb Ayorinde of HB Ultility and highest goalscorer, Abdulahi Abolaji of Zamadek received the sum of N25,000 each.
Ismaila Giwa and Yomi Olaniyi represented the Lagos State Grassroots Football Association at the brief prize presentation event.
