Real Madrid were yesterday evening ruthlessly thrashed 4-0 at home by FC Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeau in the first El Classico of the 2015/2016 Spanish La Liga. This is the first time that the all-whites would lose a match at home since September 2014.
Luis Suarez had opened scoring at the eleventh minute, after ten minutes of superiority by the Catalans. Neymar Jr. scored in the 37th minute and Andres Iniesta thundered in a third in the 62nd minute. Suarez then iced the cake in the 74th minute with his third El Classico goal in three El Classico matches.
This win moved Barcelona top of the La Liga table with 30 points as against Real Madrid’s 24 points, making it likely that the Luis Enrique-led team may win the Spanish La Liga this season.
