Africa Sports and Nigerian Super Striker 'Michael Ikem Anwuli' Attracting Wide Interests

By Nelson Dafe on June 30, 2019

27-year old Nigerian striker  'Michael Ikem Anwuli' is being hotly pursued by top European clubs after his exploits in Cote d'Ivoire last season, Daily Sports can reveal.

Anwuli played a crucial part for Ivorian top side Africa Sports in their league campaign where he notched 4 goals in 8 games.

The attacker is being sought after for his high versatility which sees him comfortable while operating as a top striker or winger.

Daily Sports got access to highlights of some of his football videos and his abilities as an aggressive finisher, smart dribbler and pacy player were very visible.

Anwuli has as his agent Obinna Chukwudi Emelogu a top football intermediary who has worked successfully on the transfer of some players to big European clubs, including transferring then Golden Eaglets new graduate and now Super Eagles center back Kenneth Omeruo to Chelsea.

Emelogu was also instrumental in the transfer of another protégé of his and Nigerian Under-20 Flying Eagles invitee Hamdi Akujobi to Dutch top flight club Henreveen last year.

The very widely travelled agent told Daily Sports that he is considering all possible deals for Anwuli.

“Whatever deal we decide to pursue as regards Anwuli would be one that matches the high quality of the player. We are calm about his situation as he has shown enough to suggest that he can continue to get better in the game and be of great help to whatever club he played for,” Emelogu said.

Anwuli, whose hold up and link up play in the pitch are other qualities that stand him out, says he’s ready for the challenge of a big European club. “I’m good to go. I’ve had some little challenges with injuries before but now I’m in fantastic shape, and my form at Africa Sports was satisfactory,” he says.

Having appeared in some top African and European leagues for clubs like Asec Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire), FC Mons and Anderlecht (Belgium), Kasimpamsa (Turkey), Anwuli has the playing experience that could serve him well when he secures a food European deal. And with an agent like Emelogu, he stands a good chance of hitting greater heights in the game.
