Gernot Rohr responds to Jose Mourinho’s World Cup criticism

By Daily Sports on August 25, 2018

Manchester United Boss, Jose Mourinho has too much on his plate already and should perhaps mind his business is the message from Nigeria’s national team Coach, Gernot Rohr.

Rohr, who held his first presser since the World Cup in Russia, threw light shades as the under fire Portuguese for comments made during Nigeria’s World Cup campaign.

The Super Eagles lost their first group game to Croatia, 2-0 and Mourinho who was a analyst during the tournament, subtly criticized Rohr for deploying former Chelsea midfielder, Mikel Obi as an attacking midfielder.

Mourinho, who was Mikel’s Manager at Chelsea and infamously converted the player from an attacking midfielder to a Defensive role, alluded to Rohr not fully in tune with the ability of his Captain.

Responding to Mourinho’s two cents, Rohr told Brila FM on Friday that, “I don’t speak about other Coaches; I don’t comment on his work, He’s commenting on our job. It’s okay, it’ not a problem for me.

“But you saw that in the games he (Mikel) played in the offensive midfield position, he did very well and we qualified like that,” said Rohr.

“When some players return to their countries they sometimes return to play in different positions or situations and can also justify playing in those positions,” the Super Eagles Technical Adviser concluded. (Footballlive.ng)
