Monaco ‘ship’ Echiejile to Sivasspor

By Daily Sports on July 8, 2017

Elderson Echiejile has become the latest Nigerian footballer to move to the Turkish Super Lig after sealing a season-long loan deal to Sivasspor.

The 29-year-old joins the Turkish outfit from French champions AS Monaco.

"Our club signed a one-year contract with the Nigerian left-back, Elderson Echiejile, to be effective as of the 2017/18 season," Sivasspor confirmed on their website on Friday.

Echiejile becomes the third signing by Sivasspor since they hooked Ivorian Arouna Kone and Hakan Bilgic.

The former Bendel Insurance and Wikki Tourists man had passed a detailed medical examination at the Medicana Hospital before completing the loan move.

Echiejile has had two stints on loan at Standard Liege and Sporting Gijon.

He joined AS Monaco from Braga in 2014 and has managed just over 30 appearances for the French Ligue 1 club.
