By Daily Sports on June 21, 2018

Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike has tasked the Super Eagles to raise their game and play a more compatible style against Iceland on Friday if they must brighten their chances of progressing beyond the first round in the on-going FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Ejidike made the statement while making comment on 2-0 loss to Croatia in the Super Eagles opening game which many pundits were apprehensive about.

Ejidike said that Super Eagles displayed more of individual skills than playing a team game: Igalo, Moses, Iheanacho and the rest were mere shadows on the field.

“If the coach could play them according to their natural roles, Victor Moses would overlap and do fantastic crosses’ Mikel Obi will have someone like Joel doing clearing job for him thereby giving him opportunities to spray passes which potentially Odion Ighalo, Kelechi  Iheanacho would covert possibly into goals,” he said.

The sports philanthropist sounded with optimistic that with determination, Super Eagles will surmount the Iceland hurdles.

He urged Nigerians to keep the flag of unflinching support flying.
