Ilechukwu insists MFM must beat Akwa United on Friday

By Daily Sports on February 16, 2018

MFM FC head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu insists his team must beat Akwa United in Friday’s Nigeria Professional Football League rescheduled match day eight fixture to improve their position in the table.

The Olukoya Boys who finished in the second position in the NPFL last season have struggled to replicate such form this time around and are currently 17th in the table.

The Lagos club face a tough task against the league leaders who are unbeaten in their last three games in the NPFL.

“The game against Akwa United is an important one and we must do our best to ensure we pick maximum points,” Ilechukwu told Completesportsnigeria.

“They have done well this season and it is not by accident that they are the number one team in the table.

“We are not happy with our position in the table and it is time we start winning games.

“Things have been a bit difficult for us th but the team is getting better by the day.

”I hope we win this game and also get good results in subsequent matches.”
