Niger Tornadoes cry sabotage after fifth straight loss

By Daily Sports on February 8, 2018

Niger Tornadoes have blamed sabotage within the team after they lost their fifth straight NPFL game Wednesday against visiting Heartland.

Tornadoes lost 2-1 a rescheduled game at the adopted home of Lagos for their second home loss this season.

SCORENigeria gathered that officials have fingered some players for trying to sabotage the team following the dismissal of the team management on the eve of the new season.

“There are some players who are sabotaging our efforts,” a bitter official informed SCORENigeria

“We noticed at Katsina United and same was the case today against Heartland.”

Recruitment for the new season has also been poor according to the new management.

But officials remain upbeat that they will weather the storm soon.

Heartland raced ahead after six minutes through Lucky Emariojake and they doubled their advantage three minutes from the interval after Mohammed Afeez cashed in on a defensive blunder.

The host team pulled a goal back four minutes after the break through an acrobatic effort by Bashir Usman.

Tornadoes are now second from bottom on six points from seven matches.
