Leicester eye Hazard to replace Mahrez

By Daily Sports on February 6, 2018

Leicester are looking to replace unhappy forward Riyad Mahrez with Eden Hazard’s brother Thorgan, according to reports in Germany.

Mahrez handed in a transfer request last month to try and force through a move to Manchester City, but Leicester stood firm and would not let the player leave for less than around £90million.

The Algerian has since missed training to show his anger at why he was not allowed to move on, and the report claims that Foxes bosses are now focused on finding a replacement for their star man.

And Bild claims that Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Thorgan Hazard is high on their list, although Chelsea have first refusal on the player.

The 24-year-old actually moved to Stamford Bridge in 2012 but after being loan out a couple of times he eventually completed a permanent switch in 2015.

Hazard has scored seven goals for ‘Gladbach this season, but last February he opened the door for a potential return to England by saying: “The Bundesliga is a good championship and for now, I want to stay here. “In the future maybe I will be in England again. “I hope I can end my career in Belgium but at the moment I don’t think about the end of my career.”
