Adeyinka AkintundeCoach of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Football Club (MFM FC), Fidelis Ilechukwu, has hinted that his side is prepared for an excellent outing in continental football next season.

Speaking at the Agege Stadium, after the Olukoya Boys survived a Katsina United scare to win 3-2, Ileckukwu hinted that MFM FC is the richest club in the Nigerian domestic league, and will sign top players that will give the team a good outing in the continent.

“MFM FC is the richest team in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), but we don’t make noise about it. When the CAF competitions begin, you will see it for yourself. We will sign top players to this team, and Lagosians will enjoy quality football from us.”

Stephen Odey and Sikiru Olatunbosun both scored in the first half to give the Olukoya Boys the lead, but the visitors came back strongly in the second half to even scores at two-goal apiece. Destiny Ashadi and forward, Obinna Eleje both scored from the free kick, to stun the Lagos fans.

Chukwuka Onuwa, however, had the final word for MFM FC as he grabbed the winner in the 78th minute.

Ilechukwu, speaking on his mood when the match was even said, “I was worried when it was 2-2, but not much. These things happen in football. As a person, I don’t like being in the comfort zone, so that period was to test me tactically.

The Lagos side is second on the NPFL log on 52 points three behind league leaders, Plateau United.
