For years, opponents have come to feel the brunt of the dark side of outgoing Chelsea striker, Diego Costa in the football pitch. From spitting into his hands and throwing his spittle on Real Madrid's defender Sergio Ramos during a feisty clash between his then club, Athletico Madrid and Real some years ago to other numerous dirty antics of fighting opposition players, goading them to being sent off, and baring his fangs on referees.
Now this time, Costa has turned his bad character traits on his own manager in public. Though the attacker is expectedly going to be leaving soon after falling out with his manager, Italian Antonio Conte, leaving with modesty and class is not part of his plan.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, "… showed there was no love lost between himself and Blues boss Antonio Conte, as he told team-mate Cesc Fabregas to 'give Conte a hug' during a live Instagram broadcast."
The report adds: "Costa has been enjoying his time off in South America, having previously been pictured quad biking, and he was eager to document his free time on Sunday evening, while the rest of his Chelsea team-mates continue pre-season.
Costa turned on his Instagram live feature to film a party he was at, complete with plastic cups and live music. He then turned the camera on himself to reveal an Atletico Madrid shirt.
"Plenty of followers on Instagram reacted to the shirt, including Chelsea team-mate Fabregas, who posted a laughing emoji at the sight of the top.
Costa then responded to his fellow Spanish international, who is gearing up for next season with the Blues, by telling him to 'give Costa a hug'.
The stunt is sure to hasten any exit from Stamford Bridge, but it remains to be seen whether he can join Atletico, given the Spanish side's current transfer embargo.
One option would be to make a short-term move to another club, until their registration ban is lifted in January, with Besiktas thought to be a possible option."
Meanwhile, Chelsea continues to desperately search for a new striker as they have had their sights on a number of options including Andrea Belloti of Torino and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borrusia Dortmund.
Costa's latest unnecessary behaviour of sending a sarcastic public message to his coach, provides an insight into the ugly day to day behaviour he must have exhibited at Chelsea that pushed Conte to the point of dumping him through a text message in which he asked the Spanish international to look for another club.
